Trusting, mentoring relationships with adult staff and volunteers trained in an approach that is grounded in a belief in girls’ rights and abilities is a critical part of The Girls Inc. Experience. For Girls Inc. girls, the people they meet at Girls Inc. have the ability and passion to make a difference in their lives.
98% of Girls Inc. the Pacific Northwest girls reported that there are adults in Girls Inc. who they can respect
Providing a girls-only, safe space where there is a sisterhood of support and shared drive and aspirations is key to Girls Inc. programming. We foster a pro-girl and girls-only environment that is physically, socially and emotionally safe and confirms that girls can succeed and deserve to be taken seriously for who they are now and for the women they will become.
We strive for every aspect of our programming to be girl-centered, motivating, deliberate, interactive and to develop and promote girls’ strengths. The programming is all research-based and tested curricula based on girls’ needs and that provides exposure to a wide variety of experiences and options that girls might not have experienced otherwise.
Through the Girls Inc.’s research-based programs starting at the age of 6, we follow a girl through her entire education process, and ensure that she has the support, tools and resources she needs at every age level.
