Professional women in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics fields can teach girls the power of these growing industries.

Girls Inc. is expanding our STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) programs! We want to involve even more volunteers in our efforts to engage girls in learning experiences that spark their curiosity and development. By engaging volunteers we are able to extend our reach throughout the Pacific Northwest and give more girls access to the Girls Inc. experience.

As a STEM Professional you have the unique opportunity to work directly with girls in our Girls Groups. You will be able to use your skills in a science, math, engineering, or technology field to help girls discover the scientist within. More so, you get to see a girl's eyes light up when she carries out an experiment, solves a problem, makes a discovery, or learns that - just like you - she can become a leader in STEM!

Girls Guide:

  • Receive training from Girls Inc. staff on how to inspire and interact with your assigned Girls Group through Operation SMART or Time to Invent curricula activities

  • Programs are typically delivered after school, Monday - Thursday, between the hours of 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

  • Girls Groups run for 8 to 10 week terms in the fall, winter, and spring that follow school calendars

  • Each Group usually lasts from 1 - 2 hours and meets once per week

STEM professional:

  • Visit a Girls Group as a Guest Speaker to share your experience working as a woman in a STEM field and serve as a professional role model to them

  • Host a field trip at your STEM-based workplace with our Eureka! Girls and open their eyes to exciting opportunities. Introduce girls to female colleagues at your workplace

  • Support or host a Monthly Learning Session (MLS) for our Eureka! Girls
